Not until 1989 was anyone much interested in investing in building in Berlin-- and if at all, then in West Berlin. With the fall of the Wall, the inauguration of the new Government Precincts and the reconstruction of the Potsdamer Platz, Berlin became a magnet for investors and world-famous architects.

Renzo Piano, Norman Foster, Hans Kollhoff and Daniel Libeskind all vied to and succeeded in building in Berlin. Nowadays, Berlin is considered to be the hotspot of world-architecture in Europe.
